As a part of 10K Designer’s capstone assignment, I will be attempting this problem statement as a part of my capstone assignment.

Problem Statement - Given

How we can build a referral reward feature for Peerlist members who can refer a friend for a job post on Peerlist.

Things to consider

1. How we will indicate the referral bonus on jobs details page in a way that it will have higher conversion? Eg job post

2. How easily Peerlist member can refer another member to the job?

3. How do you make sure that this is not abused/spammed by members?

4. How we will guarantee that the referral bonus is given to the correct referrer. How we can bring transparency in this system.

5. GTM strategy and and how can we ensure people will use it.

6. What other rewards or benefits can we offer besides just the referral bonus?

Since here we’ve been asked to build the feature with initial considerations in mind. I didn’t expand on the problem statement initially since the feature will probably enrolled out in a beta state and then with further user testing and metrics it will be improved upon.

How we can solve this?

There are several ways to approach referral tracking for the Peerlist job posting referral program.

1. Unique Referral Links:

• Advantages:
  • Easy to implement and use for both referrers and referred candidates.
  • Enables clear tracking of who referred whom through embedded codes within the link.
  • Integrates well with social media sharing options.
• Drawbacks:
  • Links can be shared outside intended networks, potentially leading to spam.
  • Difficult to personalize referral messages for each candidate.
